[Karachi, May 11, 2024]: JazzCash, Pakistan's leading fintech company, in collaboration with the Sindh Flood Emergency Rehabilitation Project (SFERP), backed by the Government of Sindh and the World Bank, has successfully disbursed PKR 2 billion to flood-affected families across the Sindh province. Under this initiative, PKR 15 billion will be disbursed to approximately one million affected families.
As part of the initiative, JazzCash has already opened 80,000 mobile wallet accounts, with 45% of beneficiaries being female and 55% male. This distribution ensures equitable access to financial assistance, particularly in urban and remote areas. JazzCash has so far disbursed the compensation amount in various districts, including Ghotki, Jacobabad, Qambar Shadadkot, Khairpur, Larkana, Naushahro Feroze, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Shikarpur.
