Why I am being charged on 4G/LTE when my data-mode is turned off? How can I avoid that?

The built-in characteristic of 4G/LTE allows it to remain connected even when your device is on data switched off mode. However, a very small amount of data is used in this case. The recommended practice in this case, is to switch your network settings to 2G/3G from your device before turning the data mode off.
