Jazz was the first telco to pledge over a billion PKR geared towards COVID-19 relief. The support includes short to mid-term initiatives tailored primarily for the most vulnerable communities.

As part of this immediate rollout, we’re supporting leading welfare organizations across Pakistan. This includes partnering up with the Edhi Foundation to provide food rations to over 15,000 families across Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar. It also includes our partnership with the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC), whereby provided PKR 8 million to fund for 1000 COVID-19 tests.

A significant part of the support is aimed towards providing zero-rated and subsidized services for access to emergency care, medical helplines, and critical health applications, which have been either marked-down or made free for customers under this coronavirus relief effort.

We also presented a cheque of PKR 50 million to the Prime Minister’s COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Fund. The cheque was presented to PM Imran Khan by Aamir Ibrahim specifically for health relief and food rations.

As part of the pledge, we were the first company to announce that we will match the amounts donated by our customers and our employees to the COVID Relief Fund. Plus, a note of appreciation to all of our employees who voluntarily donated up to 3 days of their salaries to the fund!
